Connie Wang’s “Oh My Mom!” is pure pleasure. A memoir about her mom, Qing, instructed “in 9 adventures,” the ebook displays darkish humor to good impact. Wang grew up in Lincoln, Neb., and remembers fretting in Mandarin college on Saturdays concerning the “Larry King hairline” she inherited from her Chinese language father. “I used to be positively not as bizarre as them, these baby geniuses much more good and demented than myself, together with a twelve-year-old boy who constructed a whole laptop computer pc from salvaged components that he then introduced with him to class to be able to watch porn throughout vocabulary classes.”
Wang’s weirdness, she says, comes from her mom, who loves “Magic Mike XXL” and consuming ice cream cones for breakfast. Then, she says, “I’m so proud.”
