Following a discount in worldwide crude oil costs, a viral notification — allegedly issued by the Finance Division — saying that petrol costs had elevated was declared to be “faux”, the Ministry of Data and Broadcast (MOIB) mentioned.

The notification acknowledged the prices of petrol, high-speed diesel (HSD), kerosene (SKO) and light-weight diesel oil would improve from April 2.

In response to the “false” round, the petrol worth was set to extend by Rs21.23 from Rs272 to Rs293.23, whereas the worth of HSD would improve from Rs293 to Rs311.12.

Furthermore, the costs of Kerosene and Gentle Diesel Oil, in response to the “false” notification, would improve by Rs9.71 and Rs15.32.

Nevertheless, the ministry denied this assertion and, as a substitute, shared the precise notification by the Finance Division.

This notification acknowledged: “Within the fortnight overview of petroleum merchandise, the Authorities has determined to maintain the present costs of MS(Petrol) and Excessive-speed Diesel unchanged and reduce of Rs10 within the costs of Kerosene Oil and Gentle Diesel Oil until fifteenth April 2023. In response to this notification, the costs of petrol, HSD, kerosene and light-weight diesel oil — efficient from April 1 — are Rs272, Rs293, Rs180.29 and Rs174.68 respectively.
